3. What is Personal Data?

Personal data means any information relating to you, that you can be identified or are identifiable (directly or indirectly) by such information. Your name, address, phone, or mobile phone number as well as your e-mail address are all examples of personal data. Personal data does not include information of a general nature that does not identify you; for example, the number of users of the Marketplace.

You may visit our Marketplace and view our Services without providing information to us which directly identifies you. However, please be aware that in this case you may not be able to use certain parts of the Marketplace or Services.

Registering for our Services: when you create a user account and register for the Marketplace we collect your user name and e-mail address.

Ordering from the Marketplace: when you place an order for a product on the Marketplace we collect your name, delivery address, phone number, e-mail address when you order a product via the Marketplace. We do not collect your bank or payment information as this is handled by our third-party providers, please check their respective privacy policies for further information.

Selling on the Marketplace: when you sell products on the Marketplace we collect your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, bank or payment account details and tax status.

Submitting a form: when you submit a form (eg. contact form) we collect your name and e-mail address.

Subscribing to our Newsletter: When you register for our newsletter and promotional messages we collect your e-mail address provided that you have given us your consent.

Additional data collection: we collect the data which you have provided to us through the visit and use of the Marketplace as well as our services, e.g. your purchases and sales history, favourited and earmarked items on the Marketplace, your movement and actions taken on the Marketplace as well as the content and details of messages sent or received via our messaging service. If you log in via a social media we collect your personal data that you have made publicly available from the respective social media platform.

5. How We Handle Your Personal Data

We may use the personal data you provide or that is collected through your use of the Services to operate and improve the Services, the Marketplace, as well as our products and services. We may also use your information to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information and notices relating to the Services, and to communicate with you about marketing promotions.

To operate the Marketplace and provide our Services to you: We need to use your data to receive and fulfil orders you place on the Marketplace as well as to maintain and monitor the performance of the marketplace in order to provide you with access to a correctly functioning Marketplace and Services. It is necessary for us to process your information in this way to perform our contract to you.

To fulfil our Services and operate the Marketplace: We have to share your name, phone number and delivery address with our fulfilment partners in order to process orders and sales made on the Marketplace. This information is provided only in respect of purchases made and is not provided to the our fulfilment partners under any other provisions.

Right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of data processing: You have the right to obtain access to your personal data stored by us at any time. If we process or use your personal data, we shall endeavor to ensure that it is kept accurate and up-to-date for the purposes for which they were collected by implementing suitable measures and procedures. Right to withdraw your consent: If you have given your consent to the collection or processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent on a prospective basis without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on the consent before its withdrawal at any time. You may also object to the use of your personal data for purposes of market research and public opinion polling as well as advertising and unsubscribe from our newsletter by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you receive from us. 8. How We Store and Secure Your Personal Data

The personal data processed or stored by us is subject to reasonable technical safeguards, physically and electronically. Access to this data is limited by reasonable measures to authorised employees and contractors on a need-to-know basis in order to operate, develop or improve our Services.

Ignition Ink takes all necessary steps to provide reasonable security for the data we handle and store. Unfortunately no security system can be protected from all potential security breaches due to the inherent nature of the internet. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data while that data is stored on our systems or being submitted by you on or through the Services over the internet which you do at your own risk.

Ignition Ink payments are process by third-party payment providers and we do not handle your payment information or related personal data. We recommend you read the respective privacy policies for our third-party payment processors before you use their Services to make payments to Ignition Ink. We will only store your personal data as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which they were collected or – where the law provides for longer retention periods – for the duration of the retention period required by law. After that your personal data will be deleted.

Cookies and other technologies help us in many ways to make your visit of the Marketplace and use of the Services more enjoyable and meaningful.

10. Updates to Privacy Policy

Ignition Ink reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time in compliance with the legal requirements, to remain compliant with new laws, add or remove services and in the case of any changes to the way we collect, store or process your personal data. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website and be updated here. We will attempt to notify all registered users by email of any changes to this Privacy Policy seven (7) days prior to the changes becoming effective. If you continue using the Services after the modified privacy policy takes effect, you will be bound by the modified privacy policy.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
